The Finer Details...
Our largest self-catering property, the Stone Barn is certainly spacious yet still feels cosy and welcoming. The interior is decorated in a neutral, modern style and is perfect for families and gatherings of up to 8. Entering the property after walking up the garden path; you'll find your shoe storage, hot tub towels (very important for those colder nights!) and the ground floor toilet, perfect when nipping to and from the tub. The ground floor has a large open plan living space with French doors opening directly into the enclosed garden where you'll find a deck to enjoy your morning coffee, a patio with a table and seating for 8, and a brick-built BBQ. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you'll need during your stay, whilst meals are enjoyed seated on our handmade tables and benches. The living area boasts a large L-sofa with ample space for a full house; the log burner taking centre stage so everyone can enjoy the extra warmth of the fire whilst chatting or watching a film on the TV. Our sheltered hot tub seats 8 and can be enjoyed all year round, despite the unpredictable English weather! There are two en-suite bedrooms; our spacious super king is on the ground floor with a walk-in shower and the other is located upstairs with a king-sized bed and enclosed shower. The remaining first floor rooms also offer king-sized beds and share a larger bathroom with both a shower and bathtub. All the beds in the property can be split into singles, just let us know what configuration you'd like when booking. Dogs are welcome in The Stone Barn; the fenced garden means you won't need to worry about any escape artists, and we can offer access to various fields on the farm for 'walkies'; we'll let you know before your stay which ones are free from any livestock.

Our Farm
Hello and welcome to Shady Hall Farm! We (the owners Allan and Karen) live on site and love to share our little slice of rural paradise with our guests.
We have a 75 acre site where Allan grew up; helping with milking the cows on his father's farm.
We returned to Shady Hall to restore and live in the farmhouse, slowly renovating the surrounding buildings which were originally used for milking etc.
We now share our farm with 3 self-catering barns and are proudly participating in the Countryside Stewardship Scheme; helping to protect and improve our local environment.
Although you won't find the usual farmyard animals here at Shady (bar grazing sheep in the colder months), you will see a wealth of wonderful countryside critters such as rabbits, hares, owls, foxes, badgers, butterflies, bees, bats, birds of all sizes, and even, on occasion, wild deer!
